30-Day House Cleaning Challenge Day #4

So today's assignment was to "surface clean" extra rooms, such as office or laundry room. My office and laundry room are in my basement. Now let me tell you a little story about basement.... It likes to turn into a swamp/pool a few times a year. Sometimes it's from the Spring thaw or heavy rains, and other times it is because water from the upstairs bathroom wants to drain OUT of the downstairs bathroom toilet, sink or shower. So as of right now, my basement is off limits to the public eye.

So I decided to clean out my pots/pans cupboards and my container storage. As you can see from the photos below they needed not only to be re-organized but they really needed a good scrubbing out. A little secret from Sanity Saving Mom shhhh (This is only the 2nd time I have cleaned the shelves in the 6 years we have lived here) gross I know.  I was also to able to locate about 15 Rubbermaid lids that had no bottoms to go with them. How that happens is beyond me. Enjoy the before and after pics and I'll enjoy cooking out of my clean cupboard.

  1. Oooh great tupperware organization! It is like the dryer sock monster though when it comes to those little plastic containers:)

Keep up with my 30 Day progress too at http://creativelyredeemingher.blogspot.com/2013/04/clean-home-day-4.html

  2. You can make use of cooking agents, natural cleaning agents, and tools you already having lying around the house. In many cleaning situations, white vinegar is your best friend. You can use it by itself for deodorising and cleansing, or you can use it with water and other things like baking soda to create a mixture that lifts stubborn marks and stains. Mix it with water to make your windows sparkle or spray your shower walls with it to reduce mildew build up. Vinegar is an excellent cleaner for most surfaces and it will save you a lot of money.
